Everclimb Initiative
A downloadable Lancer Homebrew
Welcome to the Everclimb Initiative! This is my title for elements added into Lancer & COMP/CON under the heading of General Massive Systems.
Like any other homebrew projects, consider this a live document. It could be revised at any time, and I'll alert folks when that happens. Keep in mind that playtesting and balancing are a part of that process. Criticism is welcome, let me know how these HB pieces have worked out for you.
I keep larger posts on my GMS HB at https://c0din.substack.com/t/everclimb, where you'll also find info on more HB I've made for Lancer.
Currently on offer:
• The Khumbu, a Size 1/2 support/striker frame designed around Lock On.
• The Loading X tag. Rather than requiring an immediate reload after firing, weapons with the Loading X tag allow for a specified number of shots trackable with a d6, after which the user must reload. This adds a small limitation as a minor balancing measure, creating a middle space between unrestricted firing of a weapon and requiring a reload after each shot.
• Two new Auxilliary weapons that use the same core mechanics. The Burst-Fire Personal Defense Weapon and Burst-Fire Pistol are short-to-mid range weapons that deal flat kinetic damage (meaning no die roll), have the Accurate tag, and feature the new Loading X tag.
• Two new mech systems relating to your mech's defenses. Network Shielding provides a situational bonus to your E-Def and to certain saves. Stripped Armor will reduce your Armor & E-Def to increase your Speed, Evasion, and Heat capacity. Note that Stripped Armor will not work properly on a mech with 0 Armor; due to what I would say is a very logical oversight in COMP/CON's code, the Armor stat does not reach negatives and will wrap around to 1 Armor with this modification. Don't do that.
(A short note on rights, licenses, etc. I own the homebrew material available here, meaning the ideas, work, etc. Don't steal, it's bad. You're bad if you steal someone else's ideas and represent them as your own.)
Have fun, y'all! Feel free to leave comments here, but I will be far more responsive to comments posted at https://c0din.substack.com/. I come here more or less to drop off .lcp files when I think they're ready to be seen and playtested.

New to Lancer and/or COMP/CON? The file on this page is a .lcp file, which only works with https://compcon.app (technically, it's a zip file and works with programs that zip and unzip archives, but that's another show).
To use this file, download it then go to COMP/CON. Make a free account there (if you're completely new to COMP/CON, use the Log In button in the bottom-left of the main screen).
Next, you'll need the Content Manager. You can find that on the main screen or, if you're elsewhere on the site, via the three-dot menu in the top-right (click on "Manage Content").
Click over to Install Content, then click on the bar that says, "Select an .LCP file". Navigate to the file you downloaded. Open it or double-click it, then click Install. You're done!
You do the same thing whenever there's an update to the file on this page. Replace the file, then do the process again on COMP/CON. The only difference is that the button still say "Replace" instead of "Install".
Have fun!
